New Update! Version 1.1


It's just over one month since Resonant Tale launched on Playdate and we love hearing from everyone playing and enjoying the game! Version 1.1 includes a handful of bug fixes and some other small changes based on player feedback. Full details below (beware mild spoilers)!

Full changelog for Version 1.1

  • Fixed an occasional crash on game over due to a Pulp bug (thanks to Shaun at Panic for the fix!)
  • Adjusted game over sequence to avoid another rare crash
  • Fixed an issue where the player could be caught on a specific tile in Tempo Keep despite not being in view of a guard
  • Fixed an issue where two specific keys in Final Passage could be lost if the game was restarted between their collection and use
  • Slightly improved performance by optimising drawing of HUD elements
  • Altered sign text in Spirit Shrine garden to add flower icon
  • Altered book text in Spirit Shrine secret room to clarify the "A" button should be pressed after entering a code
  • Added two new Treasure Tip signposts (and renumbered the others)
  • Additional dialogue with Arabella outside Harmony Temple if still at three hearts
  • Additional dialogue with Arabella to hint at solution for entering Harmony Temple
  • Additional dialogue with Pandemonium if shot with an arrow before her introduction
  • Additional dialogue with the Old Man if the game is beaten in less than thirty minutes (for speedrunners!)
  • Final playtime now shows minutes and seconds if less than an hour
  • Added a normally inaccessible dev room
  • Renamed the Forest Glade room
  • Added an Easter egg referencing Reel-istic Fishing (thanks Toad for update testing!)
  • Added a new cheat code
